First Day of Saturday School - 2015September 12, 2015 - Reported by Mrs. Seta MegherianSaturday morning, September 12th marked the first day of The Suzanne and Hovsep Hagopian Saturday School. Nearly 70 eager and excited students were enrolled on this opening day of school. A wonderful staff of dedicated teachers awaited their students and began teaching Armenian language in Western and Eastern Armenian, History, Religion and Armenian songs right away.
Parents gathered to see their old friends and meet new ones in a "Meet n Greet" breakfast sponsored by the PTA. A lovely breakfast spread was offered to all the parents who gathered to discuss the upcoming year and the various events. The PTA has many fun and exciting events planned for our community throughout the year. Its most notable fundraising event is right around the corner. The 3rd Annual Dinner Dance Gala takes place on October 3rd at the Douglaston Manor. For reservations or more information please contact the church office. For many years the Suzanne and Hovsep Hagopian Saturday School has enriched many students in gaining their Armenian language, strengthening their ties to their culture and religion and making life long friendships and memories. We wish all our students a fun filled year of learning and enrichment in their mother language. |
