Maundy Thursday holds particular significance within the Armenian Church, marking the commemoration of the institution of the Holy Divine Liturgy. On the afternoon of Holy Thursday, parishioners convened at St. Sarkis Church to honor the Last Supper and the foundation of priesthood. The liturgical service was accompanied by Biblical readings, each emphasizing the importance of these two foundational institutions.

Subsequent to the Divine Liturgy, the congregation participated in the solemn ritual of the “Washing of the Feet.” All altar servers and young boys approached the altar, where Pastor Fr. Nareg Terterian ceremonially washed their feet and anointed them with blessed oil. This act served as a profound symbol of humility and service within the Christian tradition.
