Saturday, May 9
th was a remarkable day for the St. Sarkis Church family, as the community gathered to celebrate the graduation ceremony of the Suzanne & Hovsep Hagopian Saturday School.

Seeing the children standing on stage before their parents and relatives was a precious moment. They were nervous, yet joyfully excited. For nine months, they had been preparing for this ceremony, and now the long-awaited moment had arrived. Parents and loved ones watched with tears in their eyes, amazed at how quickly their children had grown.

The director of Suzanne & Hovsep Hagopian Saturday School, Yn. Annie Terterian, opened the ceremony with welcoming remarks. The teachers and helpers had organized a smooth and beautiful program that reflected and celebrated our Armenian identity.

The day was made even more special because it coincided with Mother’s Day. A major part of the program was dedicated to mothers, as well as to our Armenian culture and homeland. The children sang and recited poems beautifully.

The three graduates of Saturday School shared heartfelt words filled with emotion and gratitude. The graduates were AnnaMarie Megerian, Alex Miskaryan, and Lia Tashchyan.

After the program, our pastor, Fr. Nareg Terterian, addressed the congregation and congratulated the children and their parents, especially the graduates. He encouraged them to remain close to their unique identity, embracing their culture and faith together.
